.....not have thread titles that referce the 'reality' or oterwise of father Christmas?

My dd is old enough to read very fast, but young enough to still believe.
This will be, I'm sure her last year of belief and I rather want to enjoy it one more time.

So can we use some euphamism or abbreviation when discussing , ahem, FC?

I tried this last year and was blasted by people who's kids are still too young to read.

Please, please, can we leave such stuff off the tread title?

Oh I never thought

Sounds like a good plan to me.

BudaBeast · 26/10/2006 17:10

Of course!

I'm sure by next year I will be in same boat!

covenoveneer · 26/10/2006 17:10

Sorry I didn't think will ask for thread to be deleted

HumphreyComfrey · 26/10/2006 17:10

I had to pop another window very quickly earlier this afternoon, for this very reason.

Blandmum · 26/10/2006 17:12

tbh, I wouldn't have thought either, you tend not to, untill you are in that 'stage' IME.

But it comes on so quickly!

covenoveneer · 26/10/2006 17:13

Have asked them to remove it or if possible change the title. Sorry again.

2shoescreepingthroughblood · 26/10/2006 17:14

mine are way too old
but think you have apoint
I will be extra careful when mentioning fc on here

Blandmum · 26/10/2006 17:16

Thank you for all bring so understanding. Last year I was told i should just wait until the kids are in bed before I logged on

as if I could go a whole day.......[sad emoticon needed!]

Actually, could this be extended to sexually explicit titles and swear words?? I know we are all adults, but my children often use my computer and this is all there for them to see if I leave the window open - which I often do.

This might seem over-protective to some of you but I'd like my children to remain that for just a little while longer .

Greensleeves · 26/10/2006 17:23

good point!!

Will remember.

Firebird · 26/10/2006 17:26

I thought that it was going to be about sexually explicit titles Freckle... the same goes for them for me too really.

Aero · 26/10/2006 17:27

Agree Freckle. Ds1 is always glancing over my shoulder and I'm often having to minimise in a hurry to prevent him from reading certain thread titles.

covenoveneer · 26/10/2006 17:28

It has been removed now.

OliviaMumsnet · 26/10/2006 17:30

Hi there,
We've deleted the other thread for just this reason, especially as it's half term.
Thanks MNHQ

tortUREoisechamber · 26/10/2006 17:34

Ah thats why it had disappead as i went to post on it! I couldn't understand it! lol

Blandmum · 26/10/2006 17:34

Thank you very much

I know it seems a bit soppy, but dd is 9 and I'm sure this will be our last year for her belief

Time just goes so fast!

OP posts:
HumphreyComfrey · 26/10/2006 17:36

Have we decided on a euphemism?

FC wouldn't be too tricky to work out for my 8 yo spy kid!

tortUREoisechamber · 26/10/2006 17:37

MB My DS is 9 and may be his last year to believe too.

Blandmum · 26/10/2006 17:42

TFRO

The Fat Red One????

MortuaryAnyone · 26/10/2006 17:42

I think it's a great idea. What about St.N?

MortuaryAnyone · 26/10/2006 17:43

Now that I've read TFRO is great.

Piffle · 26/10/2006 17:44
