what 'trends' really (maybe unreasonably) make your teeth itch?

Some things really piss me off. Those wall stickers 'live, laugh, love' and other shitty phrases for example. Another is those glittery wine glasses/bottles being sold on every Facebook page. Then there are those books that have been turned into words and classed as art.

There are more. Wow there are more but before I go on, are these common pet hates or AIBU a miserable bitch

Stupid names for baby products like 'bumbo'.

Chilliplantbox · 15/03/2015 15:20

People wearing pyjama bottoms or palazzo pants outside the house.

The fucking food instagramming is refusing to go away. I have a FB friend whose every post, EVERY one, is of a cocktail not very good ones either or shite rosé prosecco. But she may be an alcoholic and crying for help.

Calling fellow women 'babes' or variations thereof. The only people in the entire world who can pull this off are Sandy and Sandra off Gogglebox. Everyone else - stop it.

As many others have said...stupid 'selfies', teenagers being the worst culprits. A subtly done selfie is fine. But why would you want to publicly post what we all did as teenagers for hours on end - staring at yourself in the mirror?! It just makes you look self-absorbed, dull and vain.

Topical....

Public, needlessly mawkish and sentimental outpouring of Mothers' Day love on social media.

I am not on social media myself but keep an eye on DD's and some of it made me feel a little nauseous tbh.

What's wrong with a handwritten card (thanks DS for the ambiguous "There's no mum like you Grin ) and a cup of tea in bed?

I also think such public displays are a little insensitive to those who aren't celebrating MOthers Day for whatever reason, I know one of my DD's teenage friends is having her first year without her mother and I can only imagine how she feels seeing screens and screens of this.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned...

The utterly mangled grammar only used by estate agents is now spilling over into other areas.

"Charming semi with garden to the front." Or " to the first floor we have?..'

AT the front. The garden is AT the f ing front. It is not TO the front. The bedrooms are ON the first floor.

Why are estate agents so universally illiterate?

I've noticed this moronic behaviour sneaking onto clothes websites. "Jersey to with pockets to the front."

Aaaaaaaaarrrrgggghhhhhh !!!!

Yesididmean YES! Send your mum a card or a text or better still call her or visit. Valentines social media exchanges are similarly annoying.

AgathaF · 16/03/2015 09:11

I agree - when did it become so apparently necessary to prove how loved/blessed/popular one is with these bloody competitive outpourings on social media. Extremely tedious.

YesIDidMeanToBeSoRudeActually · 16/03/2015 10:10

Just to irritate you further (sorry) I also saw a status on Facebook addressed to someones DD who was poorly with a cold, telling her how much she loved her and hoped she would feel better soon, finishing with (She's not on Facebook).

That is because said child is six years old and not on Facebook SO WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT?! You live in the same house! My brains almost came out of my ears...

ImGoingForATwix · 16/03/2015 13:08

Yes, yes, yes! So annoying. SPEAK TO YOUR CHILD AND GET OFF FACEBOOK MORONS! Has anyone mentioned those shitty 'like and share if you love your daughter/son/dog/step cousin" memes. They can fuck off too.

Its coffee that gets me I want a large black coffee and when I ask for that I don't want to describe it in a psuedo Italian way, nor will I call it an Americano because I've had coffee in America and its shit. I don't want milk, cream, soya, almond, tippex or any other whitening fluid; I don't want sugar; I don't want a ridiculous flavoured syrup because I would like to taste the hideously expensive coffee and if I wanted any of those I would have asked.

Guess who had to go to a Starbucks today :)

ImGoingForATwix · 24/03/2015 09:56

Minions. Bloody minions! That's another trend I hate. Are they classed a trend? Minions quotes everywhere too. What is that all about?
