How badly have I messed up. You can be honest.

I've just dropped my ds at a halloween party. He's dressed as a werewolf and on the way there we bought hairspray from the shop and I put loads of it in his hair and backcombed it. He looks fab. But he smells absolutely awful.

My nose is a bit blocked so it wasn't until I was leaving I noticed the horrifying stench of cheap hairspray all over my hand from spraying him so what must he smell like?

Her house must be stinking.

If it were you how much would you hate me and is there anything I can do or should I just forget about it?

No seriously ...................

Forget about it, the mum will be that busy running around after the children she wont have time to notice. The children certainly won't notice.

Thanks a lot LGJ. Very practical. So supportive.

Sorry my connection dropped out.

ledodgywizardrobespierre · 24/10/2006 18:39

I bet no one will notice and he can tell them the scarey smell is part of the costume.
I do hope you told him not to go near any naked flames though!

lulumama · 24/10/2006 18:39

i thought this was going to be something absolutely awful!!!

wouldn't give it another thought!

SherlockLGJ · 24/10/2006 18:41

Now you see, I thought that but I thought to myself NO LGJ that is not very supportive so don't mention bonfires, or stray fireworks, or cigarettes. But leave it to Ledodgy.

JoolsToo · 24/10/2006 18:41

thank goodness it isn't Bonfire night!

Spidermama · 24/10/2006 18:42

I'm so relieved. The thing is I'm feeling nauseaus just from the smell of my hand and I've washed it.

If it were me I'd be pissed off because I really hate strong smells. I hope she's not as intolerant as I then.

Good point about naked flames. They have pumpkins with candles in them too.

He'll smell like my MIL then. I manage to stomach that, so don't see why hostess can't - plus she'll be a tad distracted!

bubblepop · 24/10/2006 22:08

god. i wish that was all i had to worry about.

HallgerdaLongcloak · 25/10/2006 12:09

Surely nasty smells are part of the whole Hallowe'en package, Spidermama? You've added to the party atmosphere. And I bet there will be other fiends, trolls and werewolves in cheap hairspray at the party.
