I was lucky enough to spend a night there for work this year and it was incredible. It is definitely one of the best hotels in the world and the honeymoon thread here made me think that I would love to spend a couple of days there as part of a honeymoon(if dp ever asks me)
The christmas programme looks amazing they are even building an ice rink ala Somerset house in front of the hotel. Check here if you want to ogle at how the other half live

at the prices, We were lucky enough to have db&b and an activity there through DH's work, it is lovely but unless I win the lottery there won't be return visit .

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 23/10/2006 23:25

I know, it's fab but incredibly expensive But i'd bet you could get a db&b in low season for not too much..............

They do do deals for 1 and 2 nights but still way out of my league, 1 night in a travel lodge is as much as I can expect and only if it is needed for DH's work.

But £215 per night per room is affordable for a honeymoon don't you think? I mean how much do those places in the maldives ect cost, they must cost about that and I would enjoy Gleneagles much more as would dp, he hates beach holidays.

If thats your budget, go for it. Beware the food, activities and spa treatments are priced to match.

We had a week selfcatering in Scotland for about £200 .

OMG

I wonder how much it cost us to have Tony Blair & entourage staying there for the G8 thing???

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 23/10/2006 23:39

Oh no I don't have any money at all and tbh probably wouldn't even enjoy it as it would be too stressful knowing how much it cost But a girl can dream...............
