I woke up the other night with such a start.

I looked over to my bedroom door and could have sworn there was someone there, also our alarm clock dims when there are no lights on, but when I looked over at it, it was so bright.

I rolled over and tried to ignore it, but for the next hour, I felt like someone was trying to wake me up for something, but DS was asleep in his own room and DH was snoring like a trooper, and I was facing him and he wasnt moving.

I also could have sworn that the figure moved to be in front of the window, so I couldnt ignore it.

This whole thing lasted about 2 hours in total, but put the wind up me.

Has anyone else felt like this.

p.s. my house is a new house, so no ghostie's should be there.

emmatmg · 21/04/2004 22:07

Just about to go to bed......having second thought now.

Thankfully I've never had anything like this happen to me. I would be petrified.

squirmyworm · 21/04/2004 22:08

my sis had exactly the same thing - except she felt someone sit on the bed too - are you normally a 'psychic' kind of person ronniebaby? did you feel scared? I'm not normally the kind of person this happens to (my sis is - she found a ghost cat in our house!) but I once had an incredibly vivid dream about fighting my way through an empty room very crowded with chairs towards a figure I knew I knew. When I got to him he turned around and it was my dad (who died when I was five) reading a leather bound book that looked like a posh menu (!) I tried to read what it said but couldn't - he looked at me and said - 'it's good, don't worry'. When I woke up it was 100 times more vivid than any dream I've ever had and I really felt like it had happened. Also my little sis and I both, on the same night dreamed about our dad being in the lake district climbing great gable (strange or what)
at the time of the first dream I was just about to get married btw so maybe that triggered whatever it was....

DONT READ UNLESS U WANT 2!! Once, I was in bed, and I heard a bang from downstairs, so I went to investigate, and a photo of my dd was on the other side of the room from where it should of been, and one of the doors was open which I swear I had shut. Then when I went to bed again and turned the light off, I looked over at my door, and it looked like someone was crouched down by it. The other day, I was taking pictures in my bedroom, and has anyone ever seen Most Haunted? They go on about orbs, which are the beginnings of ghosts or sumthing, and I had them on my photos, and I was stood where I saw the figure! And I live alone!!! Im scared to go in my own room!! Lol

baldrick · 21/04/2004 22:26

tammybear · 21/04/2004 22:48

Ooo iv heard of grey ladies. I would move out if I had one lol

Linnet · 21/04/2004 22:50

Tammybear, I have a photo of myself that was taken at my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. And there is a moving orb in the photo with me. it's white with a trail if you watch most haunted you'll know what I'm talking about.

Anyway all the family were there except for one person and that was my mum who had died 3 years before. We like to think that it was my mum in the picture letting us know that she was there enjoying the party.

baldrick · 21/04/2004 22:51

amazing

tammybear · 21/04/2004 22:56

awww I think that's really sweet Linnet. I hope whatevers in my house is nice. My dp likes to spook me out when Im tryin to sleep, saying there's a ghost stood behind me. Isnt he sweet!!

Chandra · 22/04/2004 00:06

What's an orb? I'm not quite sure I want to hear the answer, I would be terrified to find we have something around...

But talking about this things... my sister's daughter had an imaginary "friend" when she was 3 but the weird thing about it was that you could see her fighting with him to take his hands off the toys or screaming because "Pippo" had pulled her hair or had scared her. My sister was a bit worried as she couldn't understand how an imaginary friend could be so violent so the day that her dd stop mentioning him she decided not to ask to avoid reminding her about it. About a year later one of her DH's co worker's son went through exactly the same and eventhough the children had no contact at all and he had never mentioned at work, the imaginary friend had exactly the same name which, curiously, is not used at all in our language...

SEXGODDESS · 22/04/2004 00:26

I haven't read the original post as I would probably crap myself (and dh is working nights)but I think I get the gist. I once went into my dining room at night with no lights on other than the hall light. Anyway I saw what I can only describe as "cloud material" in the shape of an arm from the shoulder disappear into nothing. It was as though someone was disappearing but hadn't quite finished before I got into the room. Also just after ds was born he was still in the moses basket in our bedroom and all of a sudden the lights (2) came full on (they are on a dimmer switch). Also dd when she was little about 18 months pointed to some eggs and called them "googies" which is what my dad called them (he died in 91 and dd was born in 93). And the tv switched itself onto standby followed by the lounge becoming extremely cold. And finally when my ds was about 2 I had put him to bed, curtains closed, etc. the phone rang I went downstairs to answer it and it was someone from Norwich Union (or similar) trying to sell me a pension or other product. DS then started roaring with laughter (as though being tickled) and this kept up for about 3-4 mins. All of a sudden I heard a mans laughter and crapped myself. Explained what happened to the NU woman and she offered to stay on the line while I investigated. I stood outside my ds's room for a minute and when I opened the door he stopped laughing. Noone in the room with him. I asked what he was laughing at and he said "Ghost". When dd was little she was in bed with me and was staring into the corner of my bedroom and she replied the same when I asked her what she was looking at.

SEXGODDESS · 22/04/2004 00:29

Completely forgot this one - when I was little I apparently p'ed the bed one night (I was about 4) at 4.45am. Later that day my mum got a call that her dad died in Ireland at 4.45am....I was always such a nervy child...

SEXGODDESS · 22/04/2004 00:43

Forgot this one too - 19 years ago my bestfriend was killed. She actually died on the thursday and on the thursday night whilst I was in the bath the sponge which was wet was on the side of the bath. All of a sudden it ended up in the bath (wasn't close to it and the rim was quite wide). Next day I heard the beginning of a story on the local news on the radio but didn't hear all of it. Later in the day I was in the kitchen and a stone hit the kitchen window. At this point I said to my mum "I think we're haunted" and she then told me that my bf had been killed which was the story on the news programme that morning.
