Would anyone be willing to talk to me about adoption? Have you looked for your birth mother or work in Social Services?

I realise that this is a sensitive subject but I need to talk to people about the emotions they have experienced when the searched for their birth mother. This is research for a play I am acting in.

I want to ensure that I deal with the subject in an accurate way so it would be extremely useful if someone would be willing to chat to me about this.

My fellow actor is playing the social worker who I contact. She would be extremely grateful to talk to someone who works in this field so she can have a true idea of the pressures of the job.

Hi RnB. I'm adopted and have made a very conscious decision not to search for my birth mother for lots of different reasons. My sister (not blood relative) searched for hers a few years ago and found her - she doesn't want to know and my sister is gutted. I'm happy to talk to you about it if it would help, basically because I have met you, but as I'm not the one who has searched I don't know if this is any use to you. CAT me if you want to talk.

Have you read Nicky Campbell's book Blue Eyed Son? It's about tracing his birth paretns, I thought it was wonderful, very moving.
