Identity theft...so do we all have to buy a shredder now?

My Dad bought a little shredder some time ago to chop up paperwork with personal details on it.

I had a bit of a chuckle. He loves a gadget and I thought it was just an enthusiastic excuse to get something else.

Now I'm not so sure he's not onto something. Dh just merrily chucks paperwork in the re-cycling bin. I scurry behind and rip it up a bit but lately I'm wondering if we should be much more careful in the light of so many ID theft stories.

Any thoughts?

You are supposed to shred everything. My shreder broke a few months back, must buy a new one

Get this one from Woolies - was recommended by Which, it does cross-cut shredding and is dead cheap

(They have it in most shops too)

Thanks for the link. It's starting to look like a good idea.

Tescos were doing them recently .. less than £10 , part of their Value Range, got one seems fine .
