I am just back from seeing dear Z in hospital. Not good news I'm afraid. After yesterday's rally she is once again very tired and breathless with a raised temperature and no real energy to talk. She thanks you all for the cards the ones I delivered today made her smile which was lovely so thanks FYC and Wolfie. She has all the cards up on her locker and loved the little gifts too.
Her niece was with her so I didn't stay long as she really wasn't up to it. I'll go back on Tuesday afternoon. It may not be at all mumsnetty but a few cyber hugs wouldn't go amiss :(

It's lovely to hear that she's enjoying all her cards.

She has a very special relationship with her niece and it must have been nice for you to meet her.

I can't begin to thank you enough greylady for keeping us in the picture. It's been clear from when you and Z first met, not that long ago, that you and she had a real connection which she valued very highly.

i lurk on this thread but rarely post. i just wanted to share something.

Last year I found a lump in my breast. I suffer from severe anxiety and was incoherently terrified. I Posted on mnet for support and had chatted to The Zombie many times before on other matters. The kindness that lady showed me was incredible. The patience when i was quite frankly being pathetic and her genuine happiness that all turned out to be well despite knowing she was grade 4 has never left me. That is just how The Zombie is - selfless, patient and fanfuckingtastic.

Please rally dear Zombie. I don't know what a phalanx is and im not sure you'll remember me but you helped me when i was at my lowest ebb as i know you have others.

Brave Zombie - kick this thing to the kerb you are needed!!

Just seen on fb that Zombie doesn't want ecards because of the extra work for the nurses. Snail mail is fine though, she enjoys those :)

Lem there is something else on this thread which may confuse you. You may see references to team DBF ( this stands for damnbuggerfuck) which is what Zombie herself coined when she had had bad news, hence we are the DBF team ! And Zombie is our leader! Thinking of you today Zombie, here's hoping you had a better night and maybe showing a bit of improvement today ? We are all certainly wishing this for you.

Z's ds has posted an update on fb to say that Z is poorly today. She now has an oxygen mask instead of the nasal oxygen as her blood sats are still too low. I will ring tomorrow to see if she is up to visitors :(

Thankyou for the update TGL , even though it's not what we were hoping to hear poor Zombie, she is certainly going through a pretty rough time. She is in all of our hearts and thoughts. I guess her op is now out of the question at this time. How upsetting for her. Praying that the mask will be more beneficial to her. And how worrying for her DS being so far away at this time. Zombie you are in the thoughts of the DBF team.

I don't know what low blood stats mean but as it doesn't sound good hopefully the extra O2 will help improve the situation.

I have just found this thread- I had wondered how Zombie was faring.

It is the oxygen saturation levels in her blood. Should be very high nineties hers are in the 80s which isnt good.
