DS turns 6 in a couple of weeks and we're struggling to find some suitable "toys"/books.

He loves watching Time Team, spent pretty much a whole week happily looking for fossils in the rain when we went to Dorset on holiday, and has turned our back garden into a series of trenches.
Already has a metal detector, but is more interested in digging. Not particularly fussed about dinosaurs, more archaeology.

Has he had anything like this?

My two have had a few similar kits and loved them. I actually got them in Home Bargain too!

I was about to suggest the same as GillSans but if he's not that interested in dinosaurs you could get this or this
I had similar as a kid and loved them :)

Sorry for not coming back sooner!
Yes thank you he has had some of those, is part way through a "crystal" dig at the moment.

Something like this?www.usborne.com/catalogue/book/1~PZ~PBSTS~3927/1001-things-to-spot-long-ago.aspx

It's a bit like Where's Wally but you get to spot historical objects etc.

Check the age groups, I can't find the exact one we have so this onemight be too old or young.
