ever sold your house for more than estate agents valuation?

anyone? just had mine valued today and it was ?25k less than me and dh thought it might be worth. do estate agents get it wrong?do they deliberately under value it so that they can sell it quickly? perhaps im just dreaming

Yes we sold for more than we had listed it at - in the end it went to the highest bidder. But the valuations we had done varied wildly too. Make sure you get at least three!

ours just sold for 25k over valuation

Got 3 valuations on our last house and went with the most expensive one (£20k above the rest) and got it within 6 wks! So yes, shop around and you may get more than you've had it valued at already.

Do you know what others are going for in yr neighbourhood - similar houses? That could give you an idea if yr valuation is realistic.

Yes,we sold ours fior 25k more than the lowest valuation we'd been given.Thats a lot of difference.
