... a Tamagotchi.

She says she's a social outcast because she hasn't got one. Will I regret this?

yes - we ended up with two! that i had to look after !!!! god, another responsibility

foxinsocks · 08/10/2006 21:06

no, you won't regret it

mine are still in love with theirs - they've had babies, the babies have had babies....

the only annoying thing is that they want to go on the computer all the time to put their passwords in Tamagotchi Town and play the games!

Spidermama · 08/10/2006 21:14

More competition for the computer. I hadn't thought of that.

Aaaaah they are sweet and so much less hassle than a guinea pig etc!!

No you wont regret it.

Then, one day, when she forgets and leaves for school without it, you will find it beeping manically and you will have to work out how to feed it to make sure it doesnt die before she comes home!

And when they give birth....oh the excitement!

lulunaticmama · 08/10/2006 21:51

guess i'm on my own in the tamagothchi haters club...

TortUREoiseChamber · 08/10/2006 21:53

My ds's had one each last christmas. I was looking after them all the time then the batteries died.
Not replaced them yet,to expensive for cell batteries!
They are fun and cute when they have babies.especially if you have two and they make friends.

pointyfangedWeredog · 08/10/2006 22:42

Nah, you won't regret it. Make it clear the life of the tamagotchi is in her hands though. SHee, all these soft mums who take on the tamagotchi care.

YohoAhoy · 10/10/2006 08:51

Can I just add that the new ones are great as you can pause them, so no worry about inadvertent death.

Me and dh often play with them while ds & dd in bed . And you can mute them as well, if the annoying beeping gets too much.

You do know you've to get version 3?

Jbck · 10/10/2006 20:58

I had one when I was pregnant, think my Mum thought it was funny & I'd see how hard it was, DD was an accident . Loved it & woke up for 3am feeds without a moan. It had a limited lifespan though & when it died I was devastated. Might get another as I'm a bit broody.
