I was with the same providers as you but listened to radio 2 and they had someone on from ' u switch.com ' you just type in your monthly repayments and they show who's cheapest, best for service etc i'm now with atlantic- proper human beings and in the uk, loads cheaper too!

Its cheaper to have g&e with one supplier. We are with powergen BUT go to u switch and they should find who is cheaper for you...Whats cheaper for one person isn't always cheaper for the next.

We're with Powergen, but have nearly paid off our debt with them and will be switching ASAP - they've been absolutely appaling customer service wise. Woulnd't go near them again if you paid me - I don't care if it costs us more money than they do to run our house I don't want to use them again.

Didn't want to say but we have just come out of the other end of MAJOR issues with pg..Aftre 4 years of disputing paying £5 a month for gas they finally found out that they had f*cked up big time..4 weeks ago we had a gas bill for £2500..!!! .

I have fought them to the end and yesterday they told me I owe the grand total of £0..! Their error so they wiped my debt.

BUT that said, I think most companies have major issues at one time or another..again it's all down to the individual.

i get gas and electric from british gas but since february when they took my prepayment meter out for a normal one they've messed up my electric and they've now said it hasnt been rightly billed since i moved in in 2002! i'll be getting a big bill soon.no one in customer services knows what they're talking about.they all tell you different things and then send you back to the switchboard to wait for a further 30 minutes before anyone answers!
run as far as you can in the opposite direction!

See, it just goes to show that all suppliers are prone to getting it wrong. I would just go for the cheapest and forget any scary stories..
