Took 2 hours to assemble DS1's new Pony Ranch last night! Thank heavens I did it before giving it to him. May need a week off work for the planned Christmas present 'The Knights Castle'.

I know what you mean, I bought a big playmobile castle for my ds last xmas, it took me a good several hours to put it together, there are so many fiddly bits.

LIZS · 05/10/2006 13:28

but Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without it !

NastyNemo666 · 05/10/2006 13:28

best part of xmas eve is frantically trying to assemble toys when children have gone to bed

joelallie · 05/10/2006 13:30

We gave DS#2 the playmobil ark a few christmases ago. Nightmare especially as everyone wanted to 'help'. I think we lost a few of the smaller animals almost immediately.....

Don't you get your child to help assemble it? Ds loves doing it, and dh has always encouraged it. It is something they can bond over, and it allows me an hour to go on MN!

robin3 · 05/10/2006 13:35

He's only 3 so I think he might have lost the will to live after 2 hours assembling.

Yes we do...which is how we lost the kittens and some of the doves.... Actually in the end DH usually growls at the kids like a lion guarding his kill and does it on his own...

pmsl!

I would have paid a small fortune for a service like that a couple of Christmases ago when we opened up the Playmobil Castle box at nearly midnight on Christmas Eve (already several sheets to the wind on Santa's sherry) to find it comes in about 27,000 tiny pieces - we were up til about 4am, then the kids were up an hour later

DastardlyDevilishDior · 05/10/2006 13:43

The castle is a nightmare. All those men with tiny daggers and bows/arrows.

robin3 · 05/10/2006 14:07

Maybe teenage boys could earn money offering this service!

DH was up till midnight last night doing it for DD1.

Anyone else have a daughter who wants playmobile?
