Hello,

I've been mooching around MN for ages now but this is my first time posting. Sorry it's asking for help, not offering!

So basically I had a yummy DD in May. I had loads of problems in work leading up to the end, mostly with a woman who I had been realyl friendly with but suddenly turned nasty and started bullying me. Turns out she was pregnant too but didn't want to say till after I had left. Anyway long story short everytime I went to my manager she told me it was a personal problem, sort it out myself etc. So I don't want to go back now, I had to leave before my leave was due to start due to stress.

So we had this brill idea that I'd set up a website selling baby clothes and accessories but aiming more at the gift market. So far I've found some suppliers whose stuff I like and am making contact with them at the moment. I've ordered a couple of things but want to start off small. I'm also thinking of taking a stall at a local market in an affluent area so I can have a bit of a physical presence too. (I'm in ireland btw)

Now one of my main problems (apart from I'm very un-technically minded) is that the name I had thought of, Littleones.com has been taken although there is no actual website there. So i need to think of a new name and am suffering from braindeadness. It's a chronic illness that seems to have come about since I got pregnant...

I really need this business to work as DP has a new job but is still training and so only earns 14500pounds a year which is really not enough to live off for long.

Any suggestions? HELP!!! I want to get it live asap!, Well before christmas anyway.

Thanks in advance,
A
ps I'm posting here mostly because the mean woman from work posts on almost all of the irish forums and you all seem nice and supportive here!

WeeOnes....totStuff...cutesuits...I'm in Ireland, too by the way, north. Good luck with your big project!! Maybe you'll get some customers from here!

Kittypickle · 04/10/2006 19:55

I'm out of ideas I'm afraid but would advise you to make sure you really really like what you chose before you go ahead and do it and that it is simple and you don't forever have to spell it. I started up a site at the beginning of the year and I'm 9 months later I don't really like what I chose but am stuck with it now. Good luck.

Perfect Bundles?
Kidsstuff?
Kidsclobber?
LittleTreasures?

Flowermum · 05/10/2006 12:46

Thanks for your suggestions!

I LOVE perfect bundles, little treasures, weeones, but they're all taken in dot com.

Kittypickle, you're right in what you say about loving the name. I'm sure I could go with something dull that probably isn't taken but then I dont think it'll stand out.

There is a company that make changing bags call Petunia Picklebottom which I love, The hip infant is a website I like. I can't think of anything though!
I'm so caught up in trying to find suppliers that my brain isn't stretching far enough.

Rosylily I'm down south in Dublin, originally from Cork.

If you look in 'chat' there's a thread of dublin and irishy people.
I go to Cork a bit. My hubby has a restaurant in Middleton.
Friend of mine did the kids clothes thing for a while. She is dutch and brought dutch clothes over. They were GORGEOUS and a bit different.

Flowermum · 05/10/2006 13:26

I'm from Midleton! How bizarre, family still live there, I've been here just over two years. Blimey, you can't go anywhere can you!

littlebundles
bundlesoflove
littlegifts
littletreasures
tinyones

littletreasures is my fave

Best of luck with it all and booo to your nasty ex-work colleague!

jaamy · 05/10/2006 13:52

ooops just noticed, you've already tried littletreasures - sorry.

tinythings
teenieweenies
coochycoo or variation of the spelling

Callisto · 05/10/2006 13:54

Try and get what you are in your name - gift babies, baby present heaven, that sort of thing. Also easy to remember and easy to spell as Kittypickle says. Also you can have .net, .biz, .org etc suffixes. I buy all my domains through uk2.net. Very good service and reasonable value too. They allow you to check all suffixes on whichever name it is. Good luck with it all.

Heaven Sent; Little Packages?

Rosylily · 05/10/2006 19:08

hee hee its Sangam Indian on the mill road. Next time you are there if you go for a curry and Javed is around that's my hubby!

aieeeeeeeeeeeeeetch71 · 05/10/2006 19:19

perfectlittlepackages or perfectpackages (if littlepackeages is taken?)

Callisto · 05/10/2006 19:46

Like perfectlittlepackages.

aieeeeeeeeeeeeeetch71 · 05/10/2006 21:14

it is also available, which can only be a good thing.

Flowermum · 06/10/2006 13:49

I do like perfectlittlepackages, and the wrapping is going to be part of the whole shopping experience, as in the gift won't be turning up in a giant wicker basket with loads of straw to bulk it up...

Is there a different word other than packages though? something softer...

Oh, what about perfectlittlebundles?

I'll go check that out now.

Flowermum · 08/10/2006 17:33
