DD has just started reception. She came home from school saying a boy had asked to see her willy. She said "No" and "I dont have one", he said "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" so she pulled her pants down and showed him, then he showed her his willy.

When I asked her what happened next she said "Oh, the line was moving by then so we just went outside". She was in the line waiting to go on the playground!

Have spoken to said boys mum (who is lovely) adn we've both spoken to our little ones and explained what is under the clothes is not for anyone to see.

is it necessary to mention it to the teacher?
does it happen to everyone?

They all do it. Imagine if you had found a funny mark on your shoulder, and your friend said she had a funny mark but different - you'd do show and tell wouldn't you!LOL

I remember that from montessorri... normal exploration at that age, but in this day and age its best to emphasise the importance of keeping some areas private. If your worried, meantion it to the teacher, then he/she can keep an eye on your DD so she doesnt do it again.
