dd2 won't wear a dress so Alice is out - and in any case I think it may be a little beyond my sewing skills~!

TIA

here is a list of all the characters. I quite like the idea of being a pig baby (albeit a boy)

Sleeping bag - that caterpilla thingy?

What about the white rabbit or the Cheshire cat? For the white rabbit it would be white tights and leotard. Sew a pompom onto the back for the tail. Make some ears out of card or maybe cover the card with felt and fix to a headband. Pretty easy. And you could probably actually buy the ears at Claire's accessories.

Madammorticia - what a fab list you have just conjured up from no-where!! Id go for cheshire cat option - cardboard/fabric covered ears on a headband, face paint with a big cheshire cat smile, orange long sleeved top with crepe paper stripes (or just a stripey top actually), leggings or trousers and a tail made of the leg of a pair of tights stuffed with something tail like! Your dd could paint the stripes on.
Gosh im wasted. im not even pregnant yet!

what about the fieldmouse that they stick into the teapot, you couls make a papier mache teapot that she can wear hanging off her shoulders but her in it and put mouse ears on her and brown leggings and a tail

or one of the playing card characters - just hang two bits of card over her shoulders with tape, and then accessorise with jam tarts/rose bushes as required!

my mum once made a dormouse outfit for my brother when he was about 3. The whole thing, bar teapot was made out of dark brown tights with a bit of card to add stiffness for the ears, was fab.

Thanks all for your fab ideas.

I rather like the simplicity of twocat's. Whether of not she'll wear it (so to speak!) is a different story!!!

psc, thank you so much for remembering, and asking.

I did a too long story about it, and spoke about her 'soliloqy', knew it wasn't spelt right, did a spell check and lost the whole thing!

I did her up in a heart shaped thingy with made up playing cards on either side. I've obviously been watching too much BP, cos I covered it it sticky backed plastic, tied together at the shoulders with red ribbon.

And I did make her a crown with my Lakeland jewely things, but her teacher obviously veetoed it 'cos she wasn't the leading lady.

But she did have the most and longest thing to say.

God, I sound smug. I'm really not, just proud of a little girl that wouldn't normally say 'boo' to a goose.

Again thanks for asking, and thanks to everyone for their ideas.

Love, EG
