When you're feeling crap for no reason what do you do to make yourself feel better?

You know when you have those days where you don't want to be an adult and also you feel just that little bit pants? What do you do to pick yourself up?

I either shop (naughty, DH isn't a fan of that particular technique!) or put on a bit of makeup and I feel loads better!

I make a blanket den and hide out in it, reading books and drinking tea.
Or go out on my bike if the weather's not too awful.
Or put the radio on loud and have a good boogie and singalong.

froootbat · 26/10/2014 13:37

Ooo I like the idea of a blanket den & singalong!

I like to look at holidays on the internet, looking round self catering holiday lets.
Or having a virtual drive round places from my past on GoogleMaps Street View and see how they have changed.

Singing, eating choc biscuits or a dinner I love but no one else does

Krakken · 26/10/2014 13:54

I phone a friend or go for a walk.
I used to eat chocolate but it just made me feel worse later.
A lovely dinner is a good idea.

Re-read the "cutted up pear" thread in classics
Eat chocolate. Make a brownie in a mug and eat it all by myself.
Turn the music up full blast and dance.
Scrub something, so long as I can complete the task before I'm expected to be somewhere.
Watch cat videos on YouTube.
Play minecraft.

Ultracrepidarian · 26/10/2014 14:24

Big cup of tea and a pjs
A walk by the sea
Petting the cat or cuddling a dc
Baking with loud music to sing along
Duvet day

Pugsake · 26/10/2014 14:31

I take to my bed with my ipad and malteasers (in fact that's where I am now)

Drink shit loads of tea.

Design my dream home on Pinterest.

Hope your ok OP think the weathers got a lot to answer for iv felt off this past week.

ItsGotBellsOn · 26/10/2014 14:35

Depends.

Sometimes I force myself to do something outdoorsy and/or social. A nice brisk walk in the park or the woods, meeting friends for a cuppa etc.

Sometimes I just need to retreat to my cave, though. Nice treatful food and telly usually does the trick, or occasionally a glass of wine and loud music = my own little 'kitchen rave' Grin

DurhamDurham · 26/10/2014 14:36

Long hot bath reading a book
Chocolate and coffee
Going for a walk and refusing to let anyone else come with me
Going to bed for an early night
If I'm really feeling sorry for myself a good cry usually helps

amyhamster · 26/10/2014 14:36

Drink ;)
Mumsnet
Watch trashy tv

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 26/10/2014 14:42

Shower, wash hair, put make up on and force myself out of the house. Or go to the gym.

froootbat · 26/10/2014 14:50

@pugsake I'm fine, thank you for asking :) just having one of those days where I want to wallow and feel sorry for myself!

I found this a week ago, and started a thread. It''s soothing/compelling/gripping all in one.
