Have serious housing problems, being messed about by the council, have some money saved up for deposit etc will go anywhere

maybe ring local estate agents? Some of their owners take benefits...

Or the local paper might have houses listed.

i know dh gets cheque from the council from his tenant, so i would guess yes

you need to ask your local estate agents. some will say yes and find the landlords who do, others will just say no. what areaish do you live?

Kidstrack · 02/10/2006 20:21

local paper, estate agents, what part of the country are you in?

CKMUM · 03/10/2006 06:33

i am in oxford, very expensive properties here, one will take benefit but only with a guatantor which i don't have.

Not that I want to stay in oxford anyway; here if you do finally manage to get the council to mocve you its temporary to temporary to temporary which is not only expensive and stressful but unsettling for the children.

CK, I'm sure I'm missing the plot here, but why wouldn't they? Have you tried 'phoning Finders Keepers?

Just don't understand why if the council are paying your rent that should surely guarantee it will be paid???

CAT me if you want to - I let out a house with FK and it wouldn't bother me in the least.

Poor you xxx

CK, what would your guarantor have to offer?
