Sometimes being a grown up is really, really hard work. I wish I had known that:
- being a 'grown up' may bring freedom, but also imposes restrictions you would never have dreamt of
- being a 'grown up' means you have to be accountable for your actions...always
- being a 'grown up' may make you dread the post each morning
- you MAY worry about being judged
- you wonder if, in comparison to other 'grown up' friends, are you at all 'grown up'?
- sometimes, you will wish, very, very hard, that you weren't actually a 'grown up'
- sometimes, you will wonder if you actually are a 'grown up', just because your age indicates that, in fact, you are
- sometimes, you will lie in bed at night, weighed down and unable to sleep, because of all the responsibility that being a fully fledged 'grown up' entails.
I wish my dc wasn't in such a huge hurry to 'grow up'. It's not always that much fun.
However, sometimes....it is
