Is there any reason why I can't give my 3.5 year old baby formula?

Not that I think he needs it or anything, but I have been given 2 tins of the wrong brand - it upsets ds2's stomach. I have been giving it to ds1, but it suddenly occurred to me that maybe he shouldn't have it?

And yes, norks are great and fabulous. I would norkulate them both if I could. So no fighting on this thread!

don't think it can be harmful ! if its follow on its enriched with iron and vitamins, which can be a good thing...i give my 14 month old formula in the morning - i take the water & powder up with me at night so don;t have to stagger downstairs at 6.00 to get milk from the fridge!!! i should think it is perfectly ok - how much formula / milk does she have anyway at 3 1/2 ?

norkulate??????

colditz · 02/10/2006 09:08

Norkulate = feed wih norks = breastfeed.

He only has a couple of cups a day. He won't drink cows milk, but he is thrilled with the idea of drinking his brother's 'special milk'.

well, i didn't norkulate either of mine - so i won't start a fight!
a couple of cups can't hurt!

I don't think that it can hurt but I do remember my cousin being told to stop giving her dd formula as it was too fattening/filling.

I've seen much older people consume the stuff, colditz. I do voluntary work at a nature reserve and once, when the dried milk powder for the tea break ran out, one of the younger volunteers (sixth former) offered to go out on his bike to get some more and came back with a tin of infant formula. It didn't seem to do anyone any harm (but was I glad to be a black tea drinker! )

lulunaticmama · 02/10/2006 09:51

but if not drinking cos milk and only a couple of drinks a day - would probably be fine and not put too much weight on - plus if 3 1/2 , will be very active!!

LOl at 'black tea drinker'!!
