Calling all music bods - please help! This is driving me mad!!!

Hi there
I keep hearing this song on the radio, I love it but never manage to catch who it is by. I only have sketchy details I'm afraid, it's pretty new and the lyrics say something about a marching band and 'when I was a young boy my father told me, son you'll be a....' then I lose it I'm afraid! See it as a challenge! Anyone know???

There was a song by Alan Price (?) called something like Glory Glory Glory, but that was about 30 years ago! Maybe a cover?
