90's London

I've lived in London for nearly 25 years now but rarely get into the centre these days (I last worked in town in 2008.) I'm always stunned how much things have changed and have been feeling very nostalgic lately for the London of my uni years and youth: 1990 - 2000.
For starters I miss how Covent Garden used to be with the mechanical toy museum and Neal street East around the corner. I miss burgers at Ed's Diner and Jonny Rockets. I miss seeing arty films at the ICA, the montepulicano lounge club and whirligig, the mad market in South Kensington and how Camden used to be before it got all posh!
What things do you miss?

Oooh, I'd forgotten Equinox! Lovely, lovely staff - very patient with drunken ramblings, as I barely recall.

I'd forgotten Frank's Cafe too, that really is going back a bit for me.

Oh yes I know the place now, yes once flip moved out and the area got spruced up I didn't go there much.

I can't read this. Just makes me feel too sad for great times and great places long gone

Do you remember Bonbonniere on the corner of Carnaby Street? I think it's a Leon or something now.

anyone remember underground tea rooms at angel islington in early/mid 80's? they did the most glorious toasted sandwiches, was a student at the time and would sit down there for hours listening to ella fitzgerald
