Would they let me change the bank account?

When DP and I first moved into our house we were unable to get credit as we were both 18 and had not built up a credit history! My Parents very kindly offered to take out several credit agreements in their name as long as we repayed them the money each month.

Everything was going to plan until i check last week and realised none of the standing orders i had set up into my parents account were actually working - can only pressume that as i set these up via the internet something went wrong.

Anyway, my question is, if i write to the companies whom we have the credit agreements with, would they let me change the Direct Debit details so the monies now comes out of our Bank account direct rather than going through my parents and then us paying them back ?!?

Any answer would be greatly received!

If the credit agreements are in your parents' names they will need to contact the companies and change the Direct Debit details - it shouldn't be a problem as the companies just want to get their money. If they are in both your parents' names and you and your DP, than you can write them, but your parents will have to send authorisation saying it is ok, as they will ultimately be responsible if the monies can't be collected from you.

Hope this helps.
