anyone??? Doesn't matter what it's like as long as it's cheap and not too far from where he's visiting.

Tell him to sleep on the floor it won't kill him.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 23/09/2006 12:17

we don't even know if the person he's visiting is sharing a house or not! So might not be a great idea.

A quick google reveals these...

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 23/09/2006 12:20

Can he not ask the person he is visiting?

Alternatively roadsiede motels are usually relatively competitive

SherlockLGJ · 23/09/2006 12:22

Why is he staying the night ??

Is he running away from the issue ??

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 23/09/2006 12:23

we don't even know if the person will be there! It's a 'chance' visit as (to cut a very long story short). DH has a cousin in Zimbabwe (well lots actually - but this one in particular). Her DH came to the UK a few years ago (about 5 I think) to work and apart from a few phone calls has never been back. She's spent the last few years bringing the daughters (both still quite young) up on her own, and is now living in a really shitty house as it's all they can afford. They've given us a home video, letters from his children and school certificates to take to him. And it was agreed all round that a 'suprise' visit would be better than a phone call - as it's easier to get 'out' of a phonecall than if someone turns up on your doorstep.

No LGJ - on this occasion I don't hink he's running away (doesn't even realise we need to talk about it properly yet!). But he's had to work this morning (hasn't quite got enough sales to get the much needed bonus - which we rely on) and this Saturday is one of the only ones that he'll be able to get to Manchester (a good 3hr drive from us!). If this guy is at home he doesn't know how long it'll take to talk to him and really I wouldn't want him driving all the way back on the same day as he'll be tired.

Oh right.....in that case I will allow it.

But no ideas re B&B's.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 23/09/2006 16:17

finally found one after two hours of hunting and phone calls! Gave him the letter to read while he's away so he's got time to think it over too

hey QoQ- really hope your dh catches up with this guy- sounds a real twonk

badkarma · 24/09/2006 10:18

Did he get the guy last night?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 24/09/2006 12:43

yes - he did - had a good long chat with him........lots of issues going on including visa ones ! - but it's not our place to go shopping him for working when his visa has run out. Delivered the stuff from his wife and kids and we're hoping that he'll figure out what on earth he's going to do!
