Are you 2 sure instead of being sisters you aren't just schizophrenic personalities in the same body?
I have heard that tax credits people will keep paying us according to last year's info until June, so (unless you need the money now, which is a valid concern, but DSS hardship payments might be a productive line of enquiry!) no rush to get it sorted for this year, to be honest.

misdee · 06/04/2004 09:22

i had to sort out what they are paying me, as they issued loads of one off payments which lowered my weekly payments by £90 a week. i was just checking it had gone back up, and it has, just got thro a moment ago.

mieow · 06/04/2004 13:31

Found out that my money has gone back up to my normal payments, as they overpaid us when DH was working last year on the WTC and I had been paying them back at £60 per week out of my CTC, so I have an extra £60 this week......... yea!!!

Have just realised it is April, am i supposed to be phoning them too. They did write to me about 2 mths ago saying that my new award would be done in april and they would contact me then but i've heard nothing. I hope my money doesn't stop

grumpyzebra · 06/04/2004 13:55

I registered online, thinking I could sort it all out that way, keep it up to date easily. They phoned us up anyway to confirm details, and promptly got some of it wrong; they now think we owe them £2000! At 6:30am this morning I was drafting a long letter to them to send in with our P60s, as soon as we get them. I read on UKP that the IR won't update/alter payment amounts until June, which is why I'm not worrying about it any more.

misdee · 06/04/2004 13:57

no your money shouldnt stop. it was just they had loads of adjustments on my last years claim, and i was checking that as of this week my money would be returned back to its normal rate. which it has, so can live again. thank goodness as have holiday in 2 weeks time.

misdee · 06/04/2004 13:58

yeah zebra they got loads wrong with my claim, which resulted in overpayment in march, and the last few weeks of the tax year have been living on around 30 to buy food, elec and gas, as they clawed back the overpayment before the end of the tax year.

Nutcracker · 06/04/2004 21:13

Have just checked my bank account and my tax credit payment has gone down by 4 quid. I know 4 quid isn't alot but it is 16 quid a month. They haven't notified me of a change in my payments and i haven't given them any financial details for this year as they said they would ask when the time came. I am confused as to why it's gone down. It went down by 10 pounds when ds reached 1 yr but wasn't aware it could go down again unless cirumstances chaged, which they haven't.
Suppose i will have to phone them too now.

misdee · 06/04/2004 21:24

gits. they always change my payments. they took my kids off my claim once. i told them as far as i was aware i had 2 kids otherwise whose kids were watching the telling at this moment in time??!!

Nutcracker · 06/04/2004 21:31

I don't understand ti. i've just checked all of the letters they sent me and they all say that they will contact me when i need to renew (which they haven't) and until they do, my payments will remain the same. Can't see why my payments would go down anway. My dp's income has raised slighty but we are still in the same income bracket that our award was for. Plus i thought there had been a general increase anyway.

They are complete arses. When it first came out i was pregnant with ds. I phoned them and asked if they wanted me to fill the form in now or wait until he was born, They said no fill it out now and then we will just add him on. Oh yeah, i phoned several times and they still sent me an award notice for only 2 children and then i had to re apply all over again.

jampot · 06/04/2004 21:42

I received a cheque this morning for £10.70 (don't know why) as last year they sent me over £700 in cheques (altogether) and awarded me something ridiculous like £130 per week on top (the £700 was for the first 11 weeks or so). Clearly this was wrong so I rang them and after about 2 months got through. Told them to stop paying me and I would return the cheques. They told me to keep the £700 I had already banked and they would take it off this years £545 (!!!). Excellent so it looks like I'm getting my £545 again this year. Oh and free prescriptions for the whole family. They are such a disorganised bunch of idiots.

misdee · 06/04/2004 21:44

arent they just. like i said to them, if i had known they would've caused this much hassle to my payemts i would've stayed on income support and let them deal with it.
