I haven't really given it much serious thought as yet, as it came as a bit of a shock! What would you say/think if your DH/DP asked you about it?

My DCs are "donor children" and we know who the donor is (were accidentally told) and sometimes watch his Youtube videos, but have never met him. I know that he has many, many donor children in the US (have been in touch with some of the other parents) and that it's possible that lots of them will be contacting him when they reach 18. You can't really hide from that in this day and age, as people can always find you on the Internet. He comes across as a really nice, gregarious man, and I like to think that he will take meeting his donor children well, and would even be pleased to see that one of my DCs has inherited a lot of qualities and talents from him. My children are barely interested in his existence, and apparently that is the case for many donor kids. They also show very little interest in having donor siblings. They will probably be even less interested at 18. I think that you are worrying too much. It is a completely different relationship from one you have with your real dad, and should not be a threat to your family in any way.
