Random Acts of Kindness - What did YOU do today then...?

As a result of this thread it was suggested we start a 'Random Acts of Kindness' thread for people to report back on what little things they might have done on a daily basis which might have added happiness/ comfort etc to someone else.

There is a whole theory related to this somewhere - along the lines that if everyone just did one or two things a day, people would be so much more thoughtful and respectful of others, and the world would be a much more pleasant place.

I think it's a great approach to teach to children too, so let's encourage our children to think about things they might do at school etc.

OK here's my first contribution - was at an event yesterday and overheard a little boy next to me asking his Mum for a snack. She seemed quite stressed, and said, sorry darling, but I forgot to bring anything today. Looking in my own rucksack I realised we had a spare banana, so I offered it to her. She gratefully accepted it, saying how she'd had such a busy morning and there was nowhere to buy anything on the way.

(Not a big deal I know, but equally I know how having a hungry wingey child grates!)
