Warning all Picasso drivers or Purley Toys r Us shoppers !!!

Our spare wheel was stolen from the rear of the car in the time it took to go inside a toys r us and buy a buggy. Apparently its very easy to steal and can come off in a few minutes. Just thought i would warn other Xsara Picasso owners. Apparently a lock can be put on to deter thieves. Of course i could also warn mumsnetters to be careful in the toys r us car park in purley, as thieves are operating in the area :-(

We to ohave had the spare wheel stolen from our Picasso - twice! And the second time we had the lock fitted. It is a really stupid design and something that I think Citroen should change.

That happned to us in the wembley ikea. My local citroen garage told me to report it to the police, get a crime number then speak to Citroen head office. They then sanctioned a free lock to be fitted, We still had to pay for a new wheel but as we should have spent the same amount of money on the lock when we bought it so we came out even, sort of!

thanks for the replies. fingers crossed we can get a free lock. failing that we are considering keeping the spare in the boot. where did you get the new wheel from ? any recommendations ? or an idea of cost ? what a stupid way to spend money !!
