we have a 'flag' on our number if someone here dials 999

becuase of peters LVAD machine. dd3 dialed 999 again yesterday [groan]

at least she wasnt screaming into it this time, just rang and then hung up. they called me back

I remember when the fire brigade turned up to our neighbours because the little boy had dialled 999 and yelled FIRE before hanging up.

We had one on our line because my brothers a paranoid schizophrenic and had been in and out of hospital...dd1 who was about 9 months old rang 999 and I just left the phone off the hook not knowing she had, so they were listening to the teletubbies shouting down the phone and I was clueless when they banged on the door Total nightmare.

I remember my nephew (about 2 at the time) calling the police. He did it about 3 times in 10 minutes.. we were trying to get organised for a party and he was alone in the hallway..the 3rd time I was walking past him and I heard the operator on the other end of the phone.. I spoke into it and she asked if everything was ok as this was the 3rd time they had a call from this number.. I apologised and said it was my nephew.. she suggested we moved the phone to a higher place where he couldn't reach it. My sister then called them back to apologise (daft chick) and they said she shouldn't have called back... that she was jamming the line for real emergency calls and if he did it again she would be charged with time wasting.. or some such. The phone has now been mounted onto the wall where he can't get at it, he is 9 now though

misdee ds1 called 999 once because dh had a nosebleed & ds1 had been taught by the tweenies that if there's a medical emergency you dial 999. Not what I needed 15 minutes before the taxi was supposed to pick us up to take us to the airport!
