my husband is a hockey coach, and I have spent the last 15 years hearing all about it. I have played in the past, and was mens 1st team manager for a few years, so for a few years we didn't talk about anything else.

We now have a life - but he has actually offered to coach 1 per month again so I guess I will get involved again. love it really, but don't tell him....

Does netball and atheletics have really long winded lots of essay writing tests to gain certain levels.. DH got his level 2 coaching, which luckily he did years ago, just has to keep up with current practice every 3 years.

He also goes on a few seminars every season to keep up with the new aspects of the game, as it changes so much over the years..

Don't suppose netball changes that much, but I am sure there must be loads of new stuff coming in about athelicits every year.

What level are you qualified to coach?

level 2..and working on level 3 (athletics) I use to be a member of the GB Junior Squad some years ago (hat to admit it was in the 70's !!!) and also played county level netball...Like many ex sports people my body is now completely shot to pieces c/o torn damaged ligaments, tendons and muscles, hence the interest in coaching....most of the coaching that I do has been with school children (private schools and my local primary) which is fantastic and great fun...I think there will be a big increase in the use of coaches between now and 2012 and I'am in the process of setting up a database website listing details of ALL coaches..... as there isn't one central databse where such information is available..........
