Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Just out of curiosity I went on that website and it was my worst nightmare. There is a discussion between 35 people about a chocoloate fountain. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Why on earth do people go for huge, elaborate, thousands of pounds weddings, if it causes so much stress? I just don't get it.

when we were married we set a date 3 months ahead (not a Saturday), I found a dress I liked without loads of agonising and taking mother/friends to help me decide, and invited 40 people, which was more than enough. The only stressful bit was finding the right restaurant to hold the lunch, because all my favourites were too small to seat everyone in the same room. But we just spent a couple of weeks going out for lunches at places we hadn't tried before, to test them and picked one.

I can't imagine why (or how ) it can take a year or more to organise one day, which is supposed to be a pleasurable start to two people's lives together.

Sorry, sidetracked. YL I'd try to grit your teeth and get on with it until after the day is over, then steer clear of the silly cow until she comes to apologise.

my god! what a complete pita!!! i'd be tempted to post (under an arbitrary alias) what really happened, and not mention it to her. she'll know it's you but will be too ashamed to bring it up. i probably wouldn't actually do that though...

mazzystar · 06/09/2006 21:01

two years? lawks. ever likely she's obsessed. i'd be really worried that once married, the lack of wedding planning will leave a huge gaping void in her life. the come down afterwards could well be huge.

arfishymeau · 07/09/2006 04:57

LOL YL. Looks like the overwhelming smugness affects them all. I think her pitying me was the worst of it. Pity FGS!!! She married the most obnoxious wife-beating, tight-fisted, hunting-fishing prat on the planet and she felt sorry for me!!!!!

I do think too that your friend will have the most awful comedown. I think she might also realise after the event what a complete PITA she was and maybe feel a little pricking of shame.

How was the wedding yorkshirelass?

Easypeasy, wish all confrontations could be done anonyomusly over the net! Just register and suggest she has misinterpreted her evil friend, putting forward what evil friend might have meant.
