D went out Saturday so yesterday was my day and what a top day it was too.
Can't walk today, legs are dead and crampy.
Got there about 3pm and got home just gone mignight but it felt like 5 in the morning.
I was smashed and thought I was the funniest person on the planet.
I laughed so so much and danced, danced, danced.
One of my best Carnivals ever.

Anyone else?

Ohhhh, I never have anyone to discuss these sorts of things with.
FFS.
Nappies, breastfeeding, food, blah de blah.
Who else wants to talk getting smashed and having a laugh without kids?
Anywhere, carnival or nor carnival, anyone??????

thomcat - i took ds 4 for the 1st year yesterday. i went throughout my teenage years as we live so close. all my friends were like ''oh you cant take him there'' - err. its called chuildrens day ffs. he loved it - had his whistle and was dancing along. he loved the bright coloured floats but tbh didnt see many floats with costumes most were sound systems. the weather was great as well - not so sure id want to be there today with the rain coming down. but yes we have a lovely time too.

Actually, since you ask
Although my expectations have always been optimistic and high, I have never really ahd a good time at Carnival
Too much crowding, labourious journey home, weed headaches and spin outs. Getting ripped off over warm cans of Red Stripe.

But I m very glad that you did

I went when i was pregnant with lottie and have taken her every year since, exc ept this year. She's always loved it. Ist time everyone came over and wished her a happy 1st carnival, it was such a great vibe. She can't walk so we hold her and she properly drances, arms in air and has learnt to call out 'tuuune'! She properly pushes out her chest and rocks those hips, arms in air. People love it and buzz of her happy little face. people take pictures of her dancing and she makes people laugh. Such a lovley vibe. Didn't go this year as with the E3 buggy thought DD2 would be too near the ground and didn't feel right but we'll take them when they are bigger.

This year was child free. First time I didn't bother with Norman Jay. Went to Goya and danced my booty off. Met a great guy who was totally on his own and come over from paris especially. Great dancer and I love dancing next to someone who can really move.

The crowd were loving it. the beer was freezing cold, the sun was shining, the tunes were wicked and everyone had massive smiles on thier faces.
As my friends run the Goga sound system I could use their loos so had no worries there thankfully.

Then went onto the Cobden club and then on a right mission over to Shoreditch to Co-Op. Met some great new people and laughed so hard with my old friends.

Carnival is wicked and I love it.
