Buying an Ex partner out of a Mortgage

Does anyone have any advice on how and where to start with buying an ex partner out of a mortgage?
I dont even know where to start.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

So the property is in joint names I assume? Is there any equity?

Has the lender confirmed you could take over the mortgage in your sole name? If you need to pay him a lump sum can you increase the mortgage by that amount?

Yes both our names are on the mortgage!
Ive lived here 4 years solely!
