He lost his job and finished at his old company at the end of February. In the month he's been out of work he decided to change his career from the music industry to graphic designer, something he's never actually done before apart from playing around at home. He went on a few courses, got books out, spoke to people and spent the month out of work teaching himself new skills and networking.

Well todsay he starts work, on a MUCH better salary as a graphic designer for a corporate company!!!! Had to go out and buy smart work trousers, had his hair cut etc etc.

I'm so proud of him for making these changes and remaining positive and just getting on with it. I'm so happy for him as well. This will be great for him. He had to get up a 6 this morning, when he's used to getting up at 8 and I know he's going to be a mess by the weekend. he's so not a morning person, especially after years of working in music when it's all about the night time!

Just wanted to share his / out good news with you all.

Making him a scrummy roast tonight and taking him out to celebrate on Saturday to our favourite restaurant.

Hooray! Congratulations to your dh Thomcat. He sounds really motivated and determined and such a nice bloke. He's officially a graphic designer too - that's what he's called in the Standard today. Enjoy your roast

Hope he has a good day. Lots of luck for the future in his new career. Does this mean you will see more of him in the evenings now?

Ha ha, probably not no because he'll be in his studio making his own records in his own time and learning even new more skills as the need arises!
