went to mum and dads mobile home on areally nice site at the coast. been there at least twice a year since ds 22months was born, so he should be used to it by now. hes had health probs since birth so i always blamed his constant crying on that. i now know differently! he didnt sleep, didnt play with the kids, wanted me tocarry him around constantly and was just generally bloody hard work!

came back 2days early or i would have throttled him. got home and hes happy as larry, playing, laughing, chatting and being adorable.

unbelievable

From someone whose white skirt has today been ruined by DS walking through some kind of berries fallen off a tree then demanding to be carried you have my full sympathies. What a shame about your hols (and yet also !!).

a lot of young children love their routine at home. ds is like this, his sister is the opposite. Lsat year we went camping when ds was 18 months old - bloody nightmare - woke up everyday at 4-5.30. Wouldn't sleep in the day, eat blah blah blah. It's annoying but sometimes I think we expect too much of them. But we are camping again this year!

how long did you go for? we have just been away for a fortnight but nearly came home on teh second wed as teh boys were driving us crazy! happy as larry when they came back.

They just miss the normality and their little friends i think

im so glad its not just my ds then! we went last saturday and was meant to be coming back sunday night. my eldest 11.5years was really pissed off with coming back as hes got loadsa mates down there, but when wegot back he realised how much he missed his playstation and is still on it now.

i honestly thought little onewould love it, fresh air, sea, sand, kids.

mum has offered to have him for 2nights on the last hols before school so i can take eldest back and enjoy it! i do think that you dont go on holiday for yourselves, you go for the kids!!!

glad to be home anyway, now having a large brandy andlooking forward to a smiling toddler in the morning

7up, my eldest is 5 and very open to different experiences - food, people, locations etc but I've noticed after 5 days or so she's quite keen to get back home to all the familiar surroundings
