Yep It's been one of those days today. Where to start....
Ds has been a little b*gger all day, being defiant, running away, trying to destroy Specsavers etc,
I had the snotty,mis-informed remarks of 'Can't she keep her child under control' 'He shouldn't be let out if he's like that' and more
Had to pay ?120 for new glasses.
Got no food in the cupboards but can't go shopping till Friday,
Tumble dryers gone on the blink again,
Family moaning about how no-one gives them anything(expecting housing and more money to pay debts but has to be by their standards 'decent')

RANT OVER...breathe....
Anyone else having one of those days?

I've had a nightmare day here too. Got about an hours sleep last night, dd got up super early this morning has been clinging on to me and following me like my shadow all day.
My boyfriend type person who I havn't seen for a while texted me this afternoon and said he's going to come round for a drink tonight...me not even dressed yet, house an absolute bombsite and dd not letting me move. It's been a tiring day, and I still have to do the hoovering
I'll definitely be in need of that drink when it arrives - although I'll probably fall asleep immediately afterwards

Me, I've been in bed sick for the past 3 days I'm bored stupid.

I probably get the worst Mother of the Day award! Have the most appalling hangover today after a raucous evening with a 12 other Mums from my village. Didn't get to bed until 3am.

Really struggled through the day and children (bless em) were quite good.

As is my usual form, began to get very excited as time approached 6pm. Had my dd (6mo) in her nightclothes and being fed by 5.45! She finished her feed in a comatose state and I gently laid her in her cot feeling a tad smug that she and I had survived the day.

Came downstairs to get ds ready for bed and turned TV on for his pre-bed chill and noticed Dora was on!! Checked my watch to find out what was going on. It was only 5pm not 6pm.

So my poor dd has been in bed since 4.55. Looks like I may have an early wake up tomorrow. Kind of serves me right though!

Ok someone is looking down on me with sympathy as the tumble dryer has miraculously decided to work again just as I was going to put the washing out on the line now it had stopped raining!

The foxes got into the rubbish last night so 9.30 this morning I was out in the rain picking up mouldy food wrappers and shredded dirty nappies. Lovely way to start the day.

I've had a peculiar tummy bug (according to doctor) which started as cystitis (now gone) and then became seriously painful tummy ache and vomiting. Resigned to living off 7Up as food makes me worse. I wouldn't mind if it was something glamorous like a kidney infection .
I'm hosting a Pampered Chef party tomorrow night and even if I'm well enough to clean the kitchen and not cancel it, the guestlist keeps shrinking (and they haven't even heard about the contagious bug!)

rosaparks · 09/08/2006 19:23

I've been really grumpy today and have lost all patience with the boys. I've been trying to pack for our holiday and I haven't finished yet.

DS1 (9) can't find his digital camera - probably somewhere in the bombsite that is the playroom.

bobblehead · 09/08/2006 21:38

Ags I can compete for worst mother of the day as I managed to lock my keys and my 14 month old in the car today AND it was 32 degrees out AND the car had been sitting in the noon sun for 2hrs so was a furnace
Luckily my neighbour was with me and drove back to pick up my spare keys so thanks to her quick driving the ordeal was over within about 10 mins and no damage to baby or car but I feel like the crappest mother ever

Ags · 11/08/2006 03:31

Oh Bobblehead, that is one of my recurring nightmares and I have visions of myself smashing windows etc! YOu poor thing. Glad everything turned out ok.

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 11/08/2006 08:37

Oh Bobblehead, ditto what Ags said.
Hope you're feeling better Jelly, I spent the other night sleeping on the landing to be near the loo and even sat in the bath for an hour weeing every 30secs.
