and I thought to myself I will get a t-shirt with the mums angels on the front and mumsnet on the back, but then i thought i will probably need permission from MNHQ for this. Shame there wasn't an online shop or something with t-shirts available coz i would definitely buy one, would be a really good way of raising money too, I mean you can t-shirts cheap enough especially from places like primark

Ideas for new MN T-shirts here !

I thought 'Vive la revolution' with a pic of an outstretched arm holding a potty aloft

flibertygibbet · 08/08/2006 19:40

These are fun ideas but I suspect the best thing for us to do (other than to keep up the fantastic media coverage! ), is to make sure we have all paid our CAT subs and keep clicking on the adverts.

The more money mumsnet have coming in (and the more they are seen to have money coming in at the moment ) the better our chances of keeping the site up and running censorship free. This also has the benefit that it doesn't take up any more of MN HQ's time which is currently very precious. (I can be all superior about this as I've just paid mine for that reason )

MerlinsBeard · 08/08/2006 19:40

omg! u can get MN thongs!!

seriously, wedo need the mumsnet angels on a t-shirt and they need to be cheaper too!!(unless u were selling the iron on transfers which would make it cheaper for you and us!)

saying something like: never underestimate the power of a mum or some other phrase (am frazzled from evil child day)

Flamesparrow · 08/08/2006 19:49

Surely a pic of a baby strapped to a rocket would be better?

Flamesparrow · 08/08/2006 19:51

I am slightly scared by the MN thongs!!!

EvesMama · 08/08/2006 19:54

so just by clicking on ads mn get paid??so if i click and unclick a million times mn get something????

GeorginaA · 08/08/2006 19:56

NO evesmama - click through revenue usually gets VERY shirty about click through fraud - if they get loads of obviously fake clicks from a single IP it could get mumsnet in trouble and end their revenue from that system. I strongly advise only clicking through ads you're genuinely interested in.

EvesMama · 08/08/2006 19:58

but if i click on eg:mothercare and browse for a bit etc, surely i cant be accused of working the system can i?
i would think most newbies would click them all when first looking at the site to check it all out?

flibertygibbet · 08/08/2006 19:59

There's no harm in clicking through all the adverts you can find to see what they're for though is there?

Especially if you have a bad memory and make it your habit each time you log on to mumsnet, for example

GeorginaA · 08/08/2006 20:00

Just be careful - most click through companies have fairly sophisticated tracking. Would be ashame to lose mumsnet any revenue by being overzealous

flibertygibbet · 08/08/2006 20:08

I'm not suggesting you click more than once each time.

I tend to think of it as reminding myself what all these companies offer. They still get the benefit as I now know what they offer so they have entered my awareness which they wouldn't have IYSWIM. I usually make the effort to have a look at some of their products as I want to show them some support for supporting my favourite website!

Effectively I'm doing exactly what they want me to do but I'm doing it because it helps mumsnet .

theladyvanishes · 08/08/2006 20:13

MOM thats a really good idea about the iron on transfers, I would really like to see a mumsangel t-shirt tho, would be fab
