where older children are concerned. So 3 weeks in and so far my ds has had his hat pulled so hard it left red marks on his face, his fingers stamped on, nearly pushed off the slide (that's when he can get down whilst waiting for the older ones to finish climbing up). You get the drift. Roll on September 5th and peace and serenity returning to MacSporran.

I just gave my big 3 a cornetto and said sorry for being so grumpy!

Xena · 08/08/2006 15:00

They are driving me to the edge of reason though and i'm snapping left right and centre

MacSporran · 08/08/2006 15:02

Oh its not my children that are annoying me, its other people's . Why do I feel like the only parent in the world that actually watches mine at the park etc, everyone else seems happy to chat and ignore their off-spring. Pxxx's me off big time.

my 5 are driving me completely loopy!!!

do they let you have computers in psychiatric hospitals?cos if im going to have a nervous breakdown i need my laptop with me!!!

foxinsocks · 08/08/2006 15:06

I always ignore mine in the playground

however, they wouldn't dare hurt a little one

just think how much tougher and playground savvy he'll be by the end of the holidays!

Macsporran - of course you're going mad - you're not supposed to actually watch your kids in the park!! You're supposed to chat, text, read a book...anything but watch them. THAT is the only way to retain a semblance of sanity .

got cross at busy body in swimming pool today
took 5 children (4 can swim 1 cant)
we went in small pool as big pool was closed till 3pm (time was 2.55pm)
old women started to shout at mine cause they were slashing (mine aged between 7 and 10) i went over and ask her not to shout at children they were just playing, she said they were slashing her grandchild (who was 6)
pretty cross already had a bad afto from 1pm so not in the best mood, so attacked back saying it was a swimming pool, she said they shouldnt be in the pool so i got out and went to talk to assistant (b4 i planted her) and he went over said something to her and she got out and took grandson with her, big pool then opened and my 4 went in there while i stayed with the one that cant swim

his hat pulled?
why

SecurMummy · 08/08/2006 20:39

I went to the park today and Grandmother was there with Grandson and Grandsons mate. Grandson is a bit of a bully (not nasty but very pushy).

So boys playing football and Grandson decides to jump on mate and stamp on his knee .

Mate lies on floor holding knee with blood floding out from between his fingers.

We get him cleaned up to find a huge gash acrosshis knee - 11/2 inch long gaping and very deep.

Grandma, slaps on 3 small plasters over gaping wound and tells mate - he was just playing it was an accident go on and run around.

I cannot express how shocked I was! The boy needed butterfly strips or something to hold it closed, it continued to stream with blood with no sign of letting up at all - as she made him keep playing football.

For the record - if anyone here ever has any of my children for a playdate and they get injured so that their lower leg is completly red with blood - CALL ME!

SecurMummy!!

Ds has a hat which ties under his chin (only way to keep a hat on and he is only 2). The child concerned was pulling at the ties and chaffed his face (did on numerous occasions - dh asked him not to but child continued - probably didn't understand dh's Scottish accent (we live in England)).

Its the "ignoring" that gets me most of all.

Sorry I am a grump do I win the MN grump of the week award.
