Move is done, back online (after over 2 months offline), DS2 is still doing well, next scan in 3 weeks.

I've really missed you all so much.

The blanket looks great in Ds's new bedroom.

Sorry you're wahacked.

Has it been a year, more, that this has all been happening?
Blimey.

Give him a kiss from me please will you.

So are you getting away at all this year?

Clarinet60 · 14/08/2006 17:15

Yes, he was diagnosed last July, hard to believe, isn't it? We have been away, thanks to the Rainbow Trust, to a lovely holiday house for ill children in Northumberland, where they cook for you and look after you. It was great.
DS1's birthday went really well thanks, Marina. We had a party, somehow!

The place in my head that controls conversation seems to spend long periods AWOL at the mo, so sorry, but my posts may be sporadic.

So pleased to see you back Droile and to hear that DS2 is doing well - think it was only a week or so agao that I started a thread to see if anyone had heard from you so welcome back!

Clarinet60 · 16/08/2006 19:47

Thanks Misspiggy, I didn't see that thread. That's really kind.

Droile - hey! Hello. I think of you so very often, and it's great to hear you. Glad that DS is chugging along nicely - hope the seizure is a real one off.

I've been a bit here and there on Mn so have missed a lot.

What's your new house like? Any news on your book??

Clarinet60 · 21/08/2006 13:08

Hi Blu, lovely to see you!

They didn't like some of the plot lines in the book, but liked other things, so I'm reworking it (but not at the moment).
House is great, well worth moving, not really sunk in that it's ours yet, though.
No more seizures, so we think it was because of the meds reduction.

Hey Droile! - good to see you back.

Hope you'll be very happy in your new home and stay seizure - free for some time to come. Good luck for the scan.

Clarinet60 · 22/08/2006 12:33

Thanks saggar. Scan results & discussion have been put back from 2 weeks to 3, unfortunately, but scan is still next wed.

Thomcat · 24/09/2006 21:00

Hi!
The scan results were that the tumour is still unchanged, thank goodness. We had a few more details about it though, thanks to DH's persistant questions. It's really mixed in with normal cells, so kind of impossible to separate out. We knew it was diffuse, but hadn't realised it was quite such a mixed up mess.
He is still having seizures, but not every day.
School are freaked out about it and have applied for extra teaching-assistant hours to cope with him. I'm on tenterhooks expecting phone calls from school at any moment.
In himself though, he's still a cheerful little chap and seems to have accepted school really well.
Myself, I feel like I'm in a funny suspended state that there will never be any closure from.
Met a couple we knew at the hospital whose child went through similar, except that they removed all her tumour. They are scared it will grow back and just live from scan to scan, so it was reassuring to talk to someone in the same boat.

Blu · 25/09/2006 13:26

Oh my goodness, Droile, what a mixed up roller-coaster of things to live with.
Excellent news that the tumour is stable, though, isn't it? I'm ever sp pleased to hear that.

Good for you re the book - good sign if they were interested in a new draft / re-work.

You have achieved so much this year, house move, new school etc.

marthamoo · 25/09/2006 13:33

Good to have you back, Droile.

FoghornLeghorn · 25/09/2006 13:33

Lovely to hear from you Droile

Good to hear that the tumour is unchanged, not so good about what a mixed up mess it is.
Glad DS is settling into school well.
