How long will 11p worth of electric last?

Thats whats left in our meter. There is emergency credit available but i cant flick to that until the credit has run out. And when the credit does run out the electric will go off until i click the emergency button.

So, what I dont want, is the electric going off during the night and my freezer defrosting cause it drives me mad and happens all to frequently.

Will it last til the morning do you think or will it go quickly - in which case I can wait up for it to go and flick the ermergency credit on straight away and then go to bed.

press the button know, it should then run into the emergency without clicking off.

EMGY selected

Is that right?

I turn everything off sometimes when i have 11p left and then turn it back on at ten.

Don't you just love having a meter, does wonders for your self esteem

I think Im getting on fitted this week.

Is it a right pain?

fairyfly · 06/08/2006 23:53

Yep, but only if you're skint. If you keep it full and toped up and put a large amount in each time it's fine.

I've ran out of money and had no electricity for 24 hours and then it is a complete ball ache.

TambaIsBadBadBad · 06/08/2006 23:54

It was already here when we moved in - Gas is on a meter too.

For me its easier than paying monthy bills, except that i keep forgetting to put money on it. The water heater kills the credit too.

I ought to have my phone on a meter too cause the bills are killing me. At least with a meter i know what im spending and what i can afford. Although its crap when it runs out completely on a sunday afternoon when the shops are closed and I dont drive....

Oh and nevere put your pre payement card next to your cash card as it stops it working and you loose all your credit.

TambaIsBadBadBad · 06/08/2006 23:58

Really?

Opps, my electric, gas and cash card are on a little pile on the shelf. Better go seperate them!
