so said the recording so I topped up with my normal 50 quid

"you're new balance if £55.01 - so why do they hold back a fiver of your money?

what if I want to change my provider?

anyone know?

Doesn't that mean you've been given £5 free? When I top up with £15 or more I get 20 per cent free

MerlinsBeard · 06/08/2006 16:10

sounds like they have given you 5 pounds rather than they held any back

Joolstoo · 06/08/2006 16:10

hmmm not sure

I usually get £20 extra but I have to use my top up on one month which ain't gonna happen!

I know Orange give a percentage free which increases the more you top up per month (they also give free texts). Might be worth checking for any other freebies with your network.

MerlinsBeard · 06/08/2006 16:19

o2 give u 10% of your top ups back every 3 months. its nothing like that is it? no promos on? o2 also do a £5 credit gift when u register ur 1st e top up card to your mob number

geekgrrl · 06/08/2006 16:19

it says on the orange website that you get a free £5 if you buy a £50 top-up.
here

Joolstoo · 06/08/2006 16:20

how embarrassing that I didn't know!

I thought they were holding it back to make sure I stuck with them!

IMO £50 is a big top up - if you are using that much each month I would definately look on your networks webite or ring them to see what freebies you can get, Orange are quite generous.

Joolstoo · 06/08/2006 16:25

no 50 quid lasts me yonks!!!

Joolstoo · 06/08/2006 16:39

did you know if you register your phone number on line with orange you can send 30 free texts per month from your computer? You don't get quite as many characters as a text by phone but can still be quite useful.

Joolstoo · 06/08/2006 16:43

no I didn't! thanks!
