How many of you 'knew' when you concieved?

Or thought you did? Only I have rather convinced myself that I might be having BD last week. I am sure it is mostly in my head but wondered if there were other experiences? This would be my second but last week I was entirely unaware untill my period failed to arrive. And I know I can't test yet and I don't want anyone to tell me if I am or not Cod, but would love to hear from people who were right or completely wrong! TIA.

I did, with ds2 - just knew it. We weren't trying to hard just said if it happens it happens and it did. Still remember it! Was one of our best times ever I'm halfway through my bottle of wine - can you tell?

FrannyandZooey · 04/08/2006 20:48

I didn't know at the time of conception, in fact even in retrospect I couldn't work out which time 'did' it, but I think I know when implantation occurred. I feel a bit silly when I say it, but I did feel / experience something.

expatinscotland · 04/08/2006 20:48

i did w/DD1.

Quootiepie · 04/08/2006 20:48

YEAH! I knew!!!

jellyjelly · 04/08/2006 20:48

I knew when it happened. So many years ago but i went out got so drunk on a hen night and went back, felt different in the morning. Did also on my first pregnancy. Do believe it is possible.

BeingABitSilly · 04/08/2006 20:51

I have told DP that if I am I will be Sh*tting myself as we aren't really in the best position for baby no 2 just yet, and yet if I come on I will be sooo dissapointed. He quipped it would be a negative month all round whatever then!

I knew totally at the time of conception. We were out, I went all faint and felt sick and had to sit down. Exactly 14 days later test said positive.

BeingABitSilly · 04/08/2006 20:54

Simple answer being 'should have been more careful' eh? Would love a sibling though.

I didnt but my subconcious did. I had been with my dp just over a year, was never going to have kids, just wasnt maternal. I was on the pill and there was no risk. One saturday night (after we had slept together) I dreamt I was pregnant, and was horrified when I woke up. Then my period didnt come, OMG I was horrified and can easily trace it back to that Saturday night. He's in the army u see and was only home for that weekend and off exercise again for 3 weeks.
Needless to say 4 years down the line he is now by DH and my DD 3.4 has changed my life. I am sooo happy it happened like that, can't imagine my life without her !!!

PiccadillyCircus · 04/08/2006 21:07

I knew after both DS and DD were conceived. Don't know how I knew but I did (and also drank large amounts of alcohol shortly after both were conceived)

BeingABitSilly · 04/08/2006 21:21

Well one boob is sore. Have been aware of some faint feelings of nausea. DP made me a drink last night and I did think 'oh no not coffee'. Have had 1.5 glasses of wine. Am still pondering - just how sore is that boob?

Nope never knew at all. Never had a 'feeling' that I was. Only indicators I had was late AF and +ve test.

blueshoes · 04/08/2006 22:21

Nope, no clue at all, all 3 times, but for a +ve pg test and missed AF. Then again, I never suffer from morning sickness either!

nikkie · 04/08/2006 23:06

Not with DD1 but almost certain with Dd2

mazzystar · 04/08/2006 23:14

First time was a surprise. This time I "knew", or had a sense that I was, not immediately after conception, but maybe a week afterwards - felt excessively, unusually pre-menstrual. Hope you are happy whichever way it turns out.

magnolia1 · 04/08/2006 23:21

I did with dd1 and the twins but not with dd4 and this one Was on fertility treatment for dd1 and twins so thats why.

dd4 was concived on my dad's 40th and the twins were concieved new years day!

BeingABitSilly · 05/08/2006 19:29

Well today I have been tired although I suspect that is mainly due to having 5 and a half hours sleep... Sure I normally survive on that though! those who were right, what were the symptoms you noticed?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 05/08/2006 20:12

Somehow both me and my DH just knew right away. it was a case of 'oh that was lovely and we just made a baby!'
Of course then we promptly forgot about it until I started feeling poorly and did the test!

NomDePlume · 05/08/2006 20:22

No idea. In fact it was the opposite. We were TTC, and every month I would have this 'sense' that I was pg (maybe it was all in my head), the tests said negative. On the fourth month I didn't feel remotely pg and lo-and-behold the test was +

sweetkitty · 05/08/2006 20:56

Yes knew straight away with both of them. With DD1 we had been ttc for 9 months and we taking a break for Xmas and she was conceived in the November, I just knew straight away I was pregnant don't ask me how. With DD2 it was the first time we had done the deed without contraception since DD1 was born and it was like well if it happens it happens and it did. Had 3 negative tests (cheap ones off ebay) but somehow just knew and had to go get a Clearblue.

BeingABitSilly · 06/08/2006 16:10

I am doing my bloody nut in. It is still 10 days before I can test. I have established that yes we did BD while I was ovulating, but realistically my boobs should not be sore yet. And so therefore I must just be a slightly psychotic nutter who would love another baby and yet realistically should have been more careful. I am obsessing and I hate it.

I had no idea with any of them. Mum did however.
DS1 was not exactly planned by any stretch of the imagination and i thought it could never happen to me but it did! Mum asked me if I was pg, I said no but she made me do a test anyway,it was +! DS2 took a while tc. We were building a shed and i was about to unload the cement etc from the car when Mum told me to stop because I was pg. I told her not to be silly but again she made me take the test. DS3 we weren't ttc and again Mum kept asking if I was pg and wouldn't take no for an answer. Then my 2.5yo niece pulled up my jumper, put her ear to my belly and said "you got baby in there!". I did the test just to shut them up. It was me that shut up though!
