Relocating from Sussex to Lancashire

DH and I with DD have decided to sell up in Sussex and move nearer my family in Lancashire. leaving jobs and friends but hopefully gaining a house with no mortgage, a chance for me to be a SAHM for a while again - although DH will need to find work and DD being able to see my family when ever they want.
It's getting closer now - more real - normal to keep checking that we're doing the right thing.
I'm wondering if there are others who have done a similar thing - south to the north in the UK and how it worked out for you?

Me. You'll have forgotten how much it rains in Lancashire. You won't realise it until you do. Grin

If I could do my time again, I wouldn't, but I know a lot of folk who have and have never regretted it, so don't listen to a miserable old cow like me!

Where abouts are you moving to? Does your DH have a job lined up?

We are considering relocating from Sussex for very similar reasons.

Watching with interest.

We've not decided exactly where yet but it needs to be within 20 minute drive of Wigan.
Also, no work lined up yet for DH but he works in hospitality and is happy to commute to Manchester or Liverpool if nothing local comes along.
We're both optimists I guess [
