Want a really good London hairdresser for a restyle

I'm looking for a really good hairdresser in London - West or Central area. I would like a complete restyle and want to go to a hairdresser who would be proactive in making suggestions, taking into account my face shape etc..

Thanks

I had great haircuts with Christophe (nice slightly overweight french guy with blond curly hair) at Aveda in Covent Gdn, colourists also good.

Otherwise Stannard and Slingsby - ask for one of the owners can't remember their names, and girl called Hong to do colour.

have just realised, went to staffords in brighton, that's where i know it from. the cut was ok, but i didn't have a personal recommendation of a stylist

binkie, you must tell me how you get on, I too am booked in (Beetroot!!) next month with Penny, I was wondering how to say 'Beetroot' if the conversation came up, 'well a friend recommended you .... I don't really know her or really know what she looks like, but would the name Beetroot mean anything to you?!!!! .....

Beetroot, what are the colourists like? And make-up, that sounds a treat, how long does that take?

I'll join in the recommending now - very happy with Staffords and Penny! Not such a radical haircut (sorry to disappoint, bundle) - but big difference - wild frizz fleece is now loose-but-neat jawlength bob. I completely see Penny's charm - she's direct and immediate and flattering all in one - not to mention getting the choice of cut right.

Liked how unsnooty the salon is, too - and prices not at all steep compared to central London places. (Mine cost £58.)
