....... I thought not

I am selling ym car this week and since we moved a few week back I cannot find the log book anywhere, I can find every other piece of info on the car, manufacturers guide, MOT certificate etc but no log book.

ARRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. And now it's too late to apply for a new one as it wont come in time. I just want to cry, not having a good day

FoghornLeghorn · 01/08/2006 11:11

I was thinking that. Could I give them something of mine as a reassurance that they will get the log book as soon as it arrives ?

Not sure about this as I have recently bought a car and there was a bit of a mix-up over the log-book. The girl I bought it from had filled it in wrongly and given me the wrong bit which I didn't realise until I tried to get a tax disc at the post office. I was in a complete panic thinking I'd bought a car without a log book!

Anyway, I went to the local DVLA office and they sold me a tax disc straight away. I also filled in a form with my address to get a new log book sent to me and they didn't even query it.

Luckily it's all sorted out now and was an honest mistake on the part of the seller. Had me worried for a while though! Anyway, it might be worth a phone call to find out where you stand and if you can get a copy of the log book before you try and sell your car.

sorry, didn't read the bottom part of your post properly. You already know you can get a new one. Just ignore me.
