who has an annexe with there parents or mil's next door etc....does it work? Or does it annoy you?

hi i am usually lurker, but could do with some advice if possible please.....DH and I have seen a house which we can only realistically afford if we either rent out or put my parents or DH's mum in the annexe (for a small fee of course ) Apart from a babysitter on call 24/7, does your family living that close to you get on your nerves after a while?? Or does it work for you? I know its down to personal cicumstances but any advice from people who have done/or do live like this would be greatly appreciated

Depends totally on what your relationship is with your parents/in-laws tbh. I would rahter cut off both my legs than have my IL's (not particularly to do it with my parents either tbh) live with us. But my dh's aunt has her mother live with them and it works very well.
