At what age did you move your child into a bad?

DD was in her cot until a couple of months before ds was bron,so almost 3 (tbh she was quite happy in it but we needed to get her used to her bed and free up the cot before he arrived). DS is now 18 months and seems to be attempting to climb out of the cot, he keeps getting hhis knee stuck through the bars as well. He just seems too small to go into a bed, plus I'm sure he will be in and out of it constantly. Has anyone done it this early(or isn't it early)?

OOps just noticed the tittle says bad that should (obviously) be bed.

hehe - i can't remember, but he was quite young and got too big for the cot, i was worried he would fall out!

to start with i just removed the side of the cot as a sort of test, before getting a bed

dd1 was 20 months before dd2 was born and dd2 was 12 months ish as she used to climb out (and she had eaten the cot too!)
