I mean for one of the most powerful women in the world she seems to exude a lack of confidence.

I just don't gettit.

She looks like that because she is really a puppet...

Piffle · 25/07/2006 22:24

She (Dr Rice)could really do with learning some vital Arabic to be frank

Feistybird · 25/07/2006 22:24

Just watched her on the news - I know she's a politician towing the crap party line and all that but I do expect her to be a better actress...

I think she does a v good job of making Bush look intelligent. I guess she is better face to face than she is on camera. Good to see a woman in a top job, even though she doesn't seem to be quite "with it".

TambaIsHotHotHot · 25/07/2006 22:28

I thought this was a food thread....

Piffle · 25/07/2006 22:29

I have fantasy of her running against Hilary Clinton for teh Presidency next time around
But doubt the republicans are ready for a woman leader just yet...

Feistybird · 25/07/2006 22:30

Milge !!!!

She human fgs, she can't work miracles!!

doobydoo · 25/07/2006 22:33

She looks like a War Criminal.

expatinscotland · 25/07/2006 22:35

There is VERY strong support among Republicans - and just many people in general - in the US for Condi. There was also for Colin Powell, but he chose not to run and stuck to being a general - showing his wisdom indeed.

In fact, I'll go so far as to say Condi is more well-liked than Hilary among the general populace.

I told my mum the other day, 'Why is Condi Rice going to the Middle East and not the Prez?'

'B/c have you ever heard him speak?'

Good point, Mama.

milge · 25/07/2006 22:36

Doobydoo - that is quite a comment. I struggle to "see" how she comes over, but your comment is really close to the bone.

expatinscotland · 25/07/2006 22:36

She's an academic. Say no more .

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 25/07/2006 22:40

tonight she looked too happy and like she was wearing too much lipstick. she's dealing with a war ffs. save the lippy for less serious times.

expatinscotland · 25/07/2006 22:43

hilary looks like shit and she's a harridan.

i'd never vote for her in a million years.

condi is much, much cleverer than she comes across.

doobydoo · 25/07/2006 22:44

Oh lets be real she looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights because she hasn't a clue what she is really supposed to be doing..trying to pretend to stop a war that the USA and the Israelis have been planning for ages. She is a puppet, of th Neocons like Bush etc.Nothing more, nothing less. With or without lipstick.

saadia · 25/07/2006 22:46

She is a puppet. I do not trust a single word that comes out of her mouth.

kiskidee · 25/07/2006 22:48

when your boss has another load of 'smart bombs' on the way to Israel and your country's Satellites are giving the Isreali's the data to 'guide' those bombs in, well, its hard to not look surprised that your job description says to go over ther and tell those A-rabs you want to help them find some lasting peace. maybe Bush does irony?

expatinscotland · 25/07/2006 22:49

oh, yes, and the rest of the west is entirely blameless in the entire matter.

balfour declaration, anyone? british mandate of palestine, anyone? 14 May 1948 . . .

kiskidee · 25/07/2006 22:50

who the hell does Condi work for? Bush or his Lapdog? duh. stick to the topic.

expatinscotland · 25/07/2006 22:52

yes, let's stick to teh topic indeed.

i stay away from these 'debates' b/c they all tend to get one-sided and some of history of how the seeds on this conflict were sewn get dusted over so easily . . .

kiskidee · 25/07/2006 22:52

you got a funny way of 'staying away from these debates.....'

doobydoo · 25/07/2006 22:54

Oh Expat The west is definitely part of the equation. But i think that at this time The USA want control of as nuch oil as poss so they can use it to their advantage..and to put as many puppets in leadership positions in other countries as possible, while it suits the USA,like with Saddam Hussein. Then when the puppet presidents/leaders get abit above themselves they can bomb the country, destabilise it and the whole thing goes round again.A grisly merrygoround.
