tell her to be careful that they haven't made a mistake and ask for it back i have heard about a few people that got lodes of money and then had to repay it.

dressedupnowheretogo · 24/07/2006 10:45

Hmmmm, I was thinking that, they have also been informed they will recieve £250 a -week-, seems alot for 4 kids, none recieve DLA.

put it in a high interest savings account and don't touch a penny!

they've ballsed it up. in 3 years they'll ask for the full whack back, at which point you can write them a cheque and keep all the interest you made on it.

tinyFox · 24/07/2006 10:47

omg that's so unfair, lol

Wow!!! Have they confirmed it is a back payment? I know they are doing these atm cause I got £900 a few weeks ago.

waterfalls · 24/07/2006 10:49

Yes they said its a back payment, I know they have been struggling for months now.

get confirmation in writing that it is indeed a back payment! don't take someone's word for it on the phone.

i promise you people, spending it is heading for trouble!

they overpaid us a result of a clerical error on their part, and we nearly became homeless when they demanded it back.

it took months and an exhausting letter campaign to get it sorted!

i came to know my MP and MSP in person b/c of it.

it's tempting, i know, but please, please CYA - cover your a*se on this.

I will tell him to check, oh he works full time too.

We got a huge overpayment due to them typing in DH's salary wrong. Tried several times to pay it back but they seem happy to take it from our monthly entitlement (which was always a bonus anyway) for the next 8yrs. Have spent it on fees for our housemove which I think is as good an investment as any.
