We need to replace our kitchen - there are more and more things that we are noticing now and we will need to do it quite soon. It's going to need completely re-designing. The kitchen that was put in here when the house was built was very badly designed. There is loads of wasted space. At the moment we have white cupboards and I will never have this colour again - shows up every mark. We will need new tiles (the current walls are starting to come away), new cupboards, new oven and new flooring. Big job and every expensive if we are not careful. It's going to cause chaos when the work is being done as well. Being without a kitchen is a nightmare isn't it?
Would love to see some ideas as to what other people have. It's a medium size kitchen. We have a seperate utility room.

i think you can do your own kitchen planning on the ikea website

I designed my kitchen at my old house all around me being a very lazy housewife. Integrated cooker, fridgefreezer and dishwasher with knobless ceramic hob meant there were no crevices to trap dirt and you just give it a quick wipe. I had the draining board of the sink in the corner as they're quite a junk-attracter.
New house has 20yr old kitchen with 20yrs of dirt stuck all round and we can't afford to replace it for a few years What it does have is a draining board on both sides of the sink which I will definitely choose next time.
Find the doors you like and get hold of the pricelist with the measurements and plan to fit as many cupboards as you can (for hiding clutter in when people visit).
BTW Ikea are very cheap and surprisingly good quality kitchens.
